In my last post I briefly mentioned the Soirée Blanche (White Party), and here I would like to tell you a bit more about this rather new summer tradition.
Having just completed its second season, the Soirée Blanche is a joint event by Grand Hyatt Tokyo, a well-known champagne brand (this year it was Pommery) and Lacoste, running on selected Saturdays from approx. late April until early September.
As you may guess, the dress code is all white, yet, the concept is rather different from the famous Dîner en Blanc. Soirée Blanche is not a picnic, but rather a luxury Saint-Tropez style party, where for a fixed fee you get a three-hour free flow of champagne and other drinks, food prepared by the French Kitchen’s chefs, plus a great atmosphere with music and about 150+ people company. A couple of times during the season you may also see a Lacoste fashion show.
Here I must warn you that the event gets fully booked way in advance, thus, have it mind should you be visiting Tokyo in summer season (hint: for booking, check the French Kitchen website under Grand Hyatt Tokyo).
Who knows, maybe we will meet there next year?
